Toddler Nesting

Moving the kitchen table and making some more "baby proofing" fixes in our kitchen last night, clearly ment that I needed to disinfect everything. Yep. Everything, that included deep in the base board and the horrible wood panel wall. Hellooo 70's. Ugh Rental home probs. ;) I heard a chuckle as I'm on my hands and knees scrubbing the floor and using Lysol wipes on everything. (Which Btw: I LOVE Lysol wipes. Anyone else?) my husband was laughing at me. "It's like you're going through your nesting phase all over again."
- I'm not pregnant, in case you were going to ask.-
Honestly though, having a tiny new baby I let the house go. Now, I've got an almost walking 9 month old who wants to put anything and everything in his mouth.( yes, time flies as fast as they say it does.)  And it took one time of him crawling around on the kitchen floor, for me to see all the dirt on his knees and just shudder in disgust.
As he gets older, I probably won't be so concerned because well, I have a Boy.. Who will prob bring me mud pies full of worms in the future. But for now, I'm going to "Toddler Nest" and do my best of keeping the house clean. Trying to find the motivation on days where I have to go to work and clean as well, It can be a little frustrating especially when you feel like you're the only one making the effort to keep things picked up. Yes,sometimes I want to just say "forget it." And sit down and be a big ol lazy bum.. But the clutter free and clean house feel is such a wonderful feeling.
But really,
Is my child the only one who rips off the corner bumpers and chews on them?
:: not Joseph proof::

Mom friends, do you ever feel a guilt for staying home with your kiddo(s)? Were you nervous about the SAHM life change?

Stay at Home Dad

I mentioned in my last post that my husband has a week off of work. The manufacture that he works for took a nice long week off. Just so happens that in that same week, the state fair has come to town! Sadly, we did not go.

I decided that I would work a full 40 hour again..
So, we switched rolls for this last week and my husband became a stay at home dad.

Well, the stay at home dad gig is almost up.. and it seems that Adam has really gotten the hang of what Joseph's fussing or crying really means.. Not that he didn't before.. But I think he really feels more confident in his assumptions.

This week has also really helped Joseph calm down on the Mommas boy role. Yup. He will crawl to me or make his way while holding on to the couch to be right at my side. Since I've been working more this week, he is fine with loving on either one of us. And I'm sure there is still plenty more time for Joseph to have his days of only liking Dad or only liking me.. One of us has to be the bad cop here, right?

Monday was a big house cleaning day for us. Joseph helped my making sure his toys ended up back on the living room floor.. Or random Cheerios through the house.
Adam broke out the vacuum and Joseph needed to follow him around.. You know, making sure Adam didn't miss a spot.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Labor Day! For those of us working, enjoy your time and a half! ;)

Happy Part-Time Housewife

Its a Proven FACT that a sink full of dirty dishes can make one feel dirty and down.

How do I know this? Because I have tried it on myself..many times.

It's amazing how much better I feel when the kitchen alone is clean, and how AMAZING I feel when the house is clean.

Maybe it's just something with my Anxiety? Clutter and random stuff all around the house.. makes me feel like i'm closed in a glass cage of emotions. Ok, So maybe not that dramatic.

Don't you dare sit there and think "Oh, wow she must be super clean and organized!"
Yeah, you are 75.5% wrong.

I will not lie, This house can be a pit. With a 5-month old needing any and all of my attention sometimes I put the cleaning on the back burner. When we first moved in, I told myself that I was going to keep up with cleaning, keep everything organized and it was going to be so nice and stress free... I Lied to myself. Dirty DIRTY Liar I was. No Pun intended. Now don't go thinking we are living in filth and I should be on Hoarders, because uh... NO.

I HATE LAUNDRY, Seriously.. I will do any other cleaning.
My Husband goes through about 2 outfits a day.. You would think that after dealing with his Army laundry I would be used to it..No. There is ALWAYS laundry in this house.
Depending on how J is, He will go through a few outfits a day as well..and Bibs.. and Blankets... and Toys. Haha.
And well, I am just as guilty. I stay at home with J and then work at night.. Yep, thats about 2 outfits for me as well.

Once J starts crawling, By the looks of it..it will be soon! We need to keep this house a bit more tidy. And by WE I mean WE, Myself and my husband! When J is old enough to clean up his own toys and pull them out again.. we will hit that nail on the head. The wife isn't the only one who makes a mess in the house, therefor the Wife shouldn't be the only one cleaning..and I am not the only one. I adore it when I come home from work and the dishes are done or the living room has been picked up.

The moral of making our house sound like a disaster hole, I have come up with a helpful House cleaning schedule. Now, Please keep in mind that I don't always follow it to a "T" and If I cant get to it one day I don't beat myself up. Our Child is growing and learning every day..And as I've seen before "Please excuse the mess, We're making memories." You really can't understand that until you have a child.

Feel Free to Print these out and keep on your Fridge, Share with Friends or Pin. If you do, Please give my Blog the credit. Why? Because thats the Nice and respectful thing to do.
